The High Income Child Benefit Charge threshold has been increased!!!

Therefore if you or your partner's income is between £60,000-£80,000 and you have previously stopped claiming child benefit, you are now eligible to claim again!
 
From 6th April 2024 the higher charge threshold will rise from £50,000 to £60,000 with the cut-off point for not claiming also increasing to £80,000.
 
If you do decide to claim child benefit but yours or your partners income is between £60,000 - £80,000 you will be labile to a charge and will have to repay back "some" of the child benefit, to do this you will to file and pay any 2024/2025 charge via Self Assessment by 31 January 2026.
 
Note - From April 2026, the high income child benefit charge system will move to a collective household income basis.
